My end-stage emphysema is degenerative, and my much reduced energy level has forced me to first rely on super market frozen meals, and now Meals on Wheels. I find Meals on Wheels to be 'institutional' but better balanced than the tastier supermarket selections.

With my diabetes diagnosis, my disease is all about diet. What to eat, how much, when to eat, etc. I usually have good days but then I make a bad choice once in a while... I do allow for an ocassional treat. Part of the disease control is getting some exercise every day but I am in the end stage AS (bamboo spine ). I can barely walk using a walker due to dizzyness, being unsteady and almost falling on a daily basis so I can't exercise.Last time I fell I was in the hospitak for a week and in rehab for 2 weeks. So I really have to watch my diet.

Hi everyone,
How are you doing today?
Often, patients with chronic diseases must follow a particular diet to avoid complications such as hypoglycemia, hyperglycemia, hypertension and digestive inflammation, among others.
A change in diet may help alleviate symptoms, improve the health of a patient, or at least, minimize negative side effects caused by medication.
These days, there are many food factors to consider when planning your meals:
Did the diagnosis of your disease make you change your eating habits? Did a doctor or nutritionist coach you on what to eat and what to avoid? Do you know what is good for you or not? Are you comfortable choosing your food and preparing your meals? How did you learn to adapt your diet? Do you allow yourself small pleasures?
Share your experiences and any helpful tips!
Take care,
Lizzi
