@castledepress That is true, but you need to find that strength to always fight through whatever bad is trying to tear you down.

Kenzie, you are incredibly strong.  Kudos to you.  Your mother is trying to cut you off from the world, you're facing the possibility of a pregnancy and your relationship is sketchy and you haven't resorted to any controlled substances.  I just got finished talking to a guy who is basically living in the bottle.  Pat yourself on the back.

@castledepress My friend, "Avery" the last time I saw her was at 8th grade grad, but she gave me a letter that told me how strong I was. I would always stay happy and positive even though I go through the shittiest situations that no child should experience. I try to stay strong and keep my feelings to myself, I guess that's why I came here so I can open up a little bit instead of keeping it all built up inside me.

I'm very glad you found this site, when I had my first episode of suicidal depression there was no social media and as I matured and felt different from everyone else there was no one to turn to for advice.  I was lucky in that my mother found me a therapist before I killed myself.  And don't keep your feelings bottled up, that's what this site is for, to be able to freely express.  I kept my emotions bottled up for years because where I came from that's what a man is suppose to do.

I was an INFJ before there was such a thing and felt things more intensely than most people but I wasn't suppose to.  I was suppose to be outgoing, happy and not think so much.  This led me to depression and eventually to become suicidal.

@castledepress I'm glad you found what you needed and you didn't kill yourself. I've been to many professional therapists, but I don't find therapy helpful. I just play with the stuff they have in their office and don't listen to a damn thing they say. I'd rather write music, it helps me.

Thank you Kenzie.  I think you went to the wrong therapists.  Not every therapist is good and some of them are worse than the people they're treating.  Looks like you found your own form of therapy.  Music therapy is very good, I highly recommend it.  Do you play an instrument?   What's on your playlist?  Have you been writing music for a long time?

@castledepress I can play a little piano, but I write my own music. Like, r&b and raps.

LOL. I knew rapping was in there somewhere.  You have to send me some lyrics.  Writing is a very subconscious act and writing music even more so.  Didn't the therapists ask you any questions during the sessions?  Like if any of it made any sense to you?  When I was teaching I always asked my students if any of what I was saying made any sense.

@castledepress Yea they asked questions, but I just felt was thinking the whole time is that, these people don't know me. The only reason they trynna help me is cause this is how they get paid. I don't trust no one, not one single person. I would send you some lyrics, but I don't really share it, but I'll try to get over it and just send you some. It's just my feelings.

i know the feeling, it took me almost 6 months to actually open up to my first therapist, probably even longer.  I just kind of stared at the bookshelf for months before I said a word.  I just knew that I had to be there and keep coming because the third rail of the subway tracks was looking better and better as an alternative to the hell I was going through in my mind.

I would love to see your lyrics, and I'll show you some of my photography.  I don't share very well either.  We can do an equal exchange.
