We have been married for 5 years and have been on and off a total of 13 years( mostly together).  He has struggled on and off with depression his whole life. Currently we are going through another bout of it. This time is has been for 7 months. I know he is struggling with it and I try so hard to be understanding but he blames me for everything. He is hateful and nasty. He's seeing a therapist and taking medication.  The first one just made him a lot worse. His depression is causing me depression and its affecting my children. He tells me he is numb and doesn't know what he wants anymore. We had a really good marriage before this started and we were happy. I'm at my wits end. I don't know how to live with this but I'm trying. I really don't want it to ruin our marriage.

@rokit9009 Hello rokit9009, thank you for starting this discussion. I think this is an important topic, as we often talk about what depression is like for those who have it, but the conversation is less about those who live with and love them. Let me tag some members who may be able to share some advice with you.

Hello everyone, I hope you're doing well. What has your experience been like having or living with someone with depression? What can we do to be there for our loved ones who have depression? And what can we do for ourselves to not lose ourselves at the same time. Do you have any advice to share?
