Hello everyone, how are you doing today?

Let’s talk about something that doesn’t get mentioned often enough: how chemotherapy can affect your sense of taste and appetite.

Many people describe food tasting metallic, bitter, or just… off. Some say their favorite meals suddenly become unbearable. Others lose interest in food altogether, even when they know they need to eat to stay strong.

💬 If you've been through this:

  • How did it impact your daily life or your relationship with food?
  • Were there any textures, temperatures, or flavors that were easier to tolerate?
  • Did any tips from loved ones or healthcare providers actually help?
  • And over time did your taste return to what it was before?

Take care,
Somya from the Carenity team 🌼

Yes it did for sure,it affected my appetite greatly because everything is ate tasted like literally nothing at all. What helped is if I ate something citrus before I ate for example lemon head candy, I would eat one of those then eat my food and it helped a great bit,I could taste my food.

Yes. Mostly I just ate white rice because anything with the taste to it just made me sick.
