I had to stop taking Statins years ago when I developed a major reaction to them. My leg and back muscles all of a sudden cramped up terribly after taking Statins for many years. My blood test showed excessive amounts of the CK Protein (Creatine kinase) at a level over 500 times the maximum limits. The CK returned to normal ranges a few months after stopping the Statins. Have been using the Repatha subcutaneous injections ever since with normal ranges noted in my cholesterol.
