Living with psoriatic arthritis can be hard to explain to someone who hasn’t experienced it. People may think mostly about joint pain, but PsA can affect daily life in many different ways.

Here are 5 things people living with PsA may relate to:

1. It’s not only about joint pain – stiffness, swelling, fatigue, and skin or nail changes can all have an impact.
2. Symptoms can change from day to day – something that feels manageable today may be much harder tomorrow.
3. Fatigue can be hard to describe – it can feel very different from simply being tired or needing more sleep.
4. Many symptoms aren’t visible – you may look fine to others while still dealing with pain, stiffness, or exhaustion.
5. Everyone’s experience with PsA is different – the symptoms that affect one person most may not be the same for someone else.
