Hello,

How are you today? emoticon cute

So that we can discuss the various treatments for cancer!

As you know, treatment for cancer is very broad and depends on the type of cancer, ranging from surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, targeted therapy, immunotherapy, stem cell transplant, to many more! Some people with cancer may only need one type of treatment, while others may need to undergo a combination of a few.

What has your cancer treatment been like? Have you had surgery? Chemotherapy? Something else? What were the results and side effects? How are you doing today?

Hello,

i have NHFL, & was in a clinical trial that made my liver enzymes go sky high so I had to stop the trial. That was last August still trying to get those numbers lower, with the help of a drug, mycopholate. This drug has gave me diarrhea. In total, I lost 25 pounds, so now I am 80 pounds. Now I need to gain some weight, but at the beginning of my diagnosis, I changed to a healthy diet. No sugar, & lots of fruits & Vegas. This makes it hard to gain weight. I am at a loss over that. However, I want to treat tha cancer as naturally as possible. I wholly believe that chemo will kill me & I refuse to do it. Besides the cancer center, I consult with naturalpathic doctor. He has prescribed lots of vitamins & minerals, & herbs, most of which target the immune system & the liver. Anyhow, that is what is going on with me. Mary

I have had 2 rounds of radiation. The first time I did 30 consecutive days and the 2nd time I did 5 days and they were both extremely intense. I have done 6 cycles for chemo and I was on Folfox. I have also gone through 26 surgeries/procedures since November 2020. I am now about to go have my 3rd power port put in and do a minimum of 12 cycles of chemo with the same Folfox Formula.

It has been a hard 4 years with two battles with cancer 4 years ago I was diagnosed with stage 3 prostrate cancer No surgery but 27 times with radiaion and shots of hormone I was cancer free Skip fowrard to last year Having trouble doing number 2 and had to get three units of blood The first time they wanted to do a colonostomy which I agree to but couldn't keep the crap they give you down Still no poop the next week another blood transfusion and they did a ct scan and saw something I was transferred to a bigger hospital, and after a biopsy, they told me that they had discovered a mass and they took a tumor the size of a plum out of me and attached a bag Home with my daughter-in-law changing it when needed and the next month scheduled for chemo The week I was scheduled, I came down with COVID and a staff infection spending 21 days in ICU asleep I was then sent to a rehab place where I received medication for the infection and learning how to walk, talk, feed dress and bathe myself Almost 3 months laterI went home to do more PT at a rehab place and at home Sept 14 I was declared cancer free, put back together on Sept 31 and go back every 6 months for an oil and lube job

I had a radical tonsillectomy and radiation for HPV related tonsillar cancer. They used a robot, and my teeth were not great, so I had to get them all pulled before the surgery. During radiation, I lost all taste and smell and was not able to eat or keep anything down for a couple of weeks. I had a feeding tube in my abdomen, but it didn't really seem to help. Taste and smell did come back, but they are a bit weak. A couple of years later, I got kidney cancer and had to have my right kidney removed. No side effects other than new scars. Now cancer-free so far, with a good prognosis in each case.
