Hi everyone,

Have you noticed more kids and young teens becoming interested in skincare at an earlier age?

Skincare routines have become a major trend on social media, with videos of children and tweens using cleansers, serums, moisturizers, face masks, and other beauty products. Some kids are even asking for products designed for adult skin, including anti-aging creams and exfoliating ingredients.

Imagine a child seeing their favorite influencer's skincare routine online and wanting to recreate it at home. They may start believing that a complicated skincare routine is necessary to have healthy or beautiful skin.

But children's skin is different from adult skin. Using multiple products, especially those containing strong active ingredients, can sometimes lead to dryness, redness, irritation, or allergic reactions.

Dermatologists have raised concerns about the growing trend of young children using skincare products unnecessarily. Certain ingredients may disrupt the skin barrier and contribute to problems such as contact dermatitis, eczema, or skin sensitivity.

This raises an important question: are kids being exposed to skincare products before their skin actually needs them?

We'd love to hear your thoughts

  • Have you noticed kids or teenagers becoming interested in skincare at a young age?
  • Has your child ever experienced redness, irritation, eczema, or an allergic reaction after using a skincare product?
  • Do you think social media is influencing children to use too many beauty products?
  • What advice would you give parents when choosing skincare products for children?

Skincare can be a positive part of self-care, but it's also important to understand what young skin really needs.

This is such a timely conversation, especially when social media plays such a big role in shaping children's interests and habits. Young people are constantly exposed to beauty trends online, and it can be difficult for them to know which products are actually appropriate for their age and skin.

I'd love to hear from parents and caregivers in our community - have you noticed children becoming interested in skincare because of social media, and how do you navigate these conversations at home?

Take care,

Razar from the Carenity team💖
