I've been on a cpap machine for about 4 months now!

I can still sleep all day, im always tired. I get home after work and will sleep  for 3 or 4 hours after a full night's rest.

So how do I know if my therapy is working im still asleep more then im awake....

@Shirahannah77 Hi Shirahannah77, thank you for opening this discussion. Let me tag some other members who may be able to share their thoughts on this. emoticon cute

Hello everyone, I hope you're doing well! When did you start noticing a difference in your sleep quality and over all quality of life with your CPAP? Was it more or less immediate, or did it take some time to start feeling better?

I noticed a difference in my sleep about a month. I sleep throughout the night. And the machine is quite.

I started with A cpap machine. Tried it for about a year could not get used to it. So my doctor prescribed a bipap machine which is much better. But I still hate it. And my problem is I cant fall asleep and when I do I only sleep a few hours. So he prescribed a sleep aid. Ambien and Xanax. I can sleep 7 or 8 hours a night if I take these. But I don’t like taking medication to sleep. Does anyone else have this problem?

@Nellie1954 I took ambien for almost 1 year when I first started.  Now every once in a while I took an over the counter sleeping aide, but don't need it very often.

Hi. I, too, have sleep apnea. Got new mask from DME store. Not used to it. Not been wearing it as I need. Will be taken back soon. I'm exhausted all day!! Won't sugar coat any part of it. I work on call, never knowing when I'll be called in. Just moved, unpacking insane!!!! Making slow progress. Totally get how tired all are who use CPAP therapy. I have no magic pill or wand. I wish I could help. I feel for anyone who is drowsy all day. My dad had it, but doesn't necessarily mean offspring get it. Yet. I do. Lost some weight, more to get off. Insurance no longer pays for my Y membership. Bonkers!! Water aerobics always provided some relief. Now cell being nasty, gotta connect to wifi to email. Cell carrier claims it's not activated. I can email. Weird. I wish all well.
