I have lived with MS for over 25 yrs, but recently I have started to experience times where my body seems to "forget" how to do things.  An example, I was at the doctor and was told to take a deep breath.  I knew exactly what the doctor wanted me to do, but I couldn't get my body to do it.  I have had it happen more than once where I was holding something and went to put it down, and my hand didn't respond to put it down.  There have been other things, but you get the idea.   AM I crazy?  Has this happened to anyone else? Is this normal for MS?

I'm so sorry that you are going through this. The pain can be unbearable at times. If I didn't find my strength in my relationship with Jesus, I would never make it through.  The other thing that has helped me was to get with a really good doctor who has worked on my diet and added supplements to control the inflammation in my body. I am currently only on two medications, besides my supplements.  I still deal with pain and muscle spasms on a daily basis, but no where to the degree I used to.  I no longer eat dairy, sugar or grains, and I avoid all night shades.  I has been a game changer.  I will be praying that you will find relief with your pain, and that you will find connections so you don't feel so alone.

@soravec I've had incidents like this before, but very fast like a few seconds delay between my mind telling my body what to do and my body actually doing it. It's an extremely strange sensation. Could it just be a delay between brain and muscle because of the damage done by MS?

That's what I am thinking it probably is. Sometimes it is longer than others and I think those are the times that are more bothersome. It helps knowing that it happens to others
