Do y’all ever feel so good one minute enjoying your day then bam, outta nowhere all these thoughts flood your mind and you can’t shake it? I’m at work watering plants and out of nowhere all this past trauma hits me and now I’m not enjoying my job like I usually do, I’m in my head and not sure how to shake it. It’s happened at home too and I feel so bad because then my mood effects my husband and kids and sometimes causes fights when I get overly sensitive about everything. Any advice on how to shake these moments?

@april.daisy23 Hello aprildaisy23, thank you for starting this discussion. I'm sorry you're going through that. I think many of us can relate to that feeling. Let me tag some members who may be able to share their experience and advice with you.

Hello everyone, I hope you don't mind that I've tagged you. Have you ever experienced a feeling like aprildaisy23 described? What do you do in these situations? What do you do to "shake" it and get out of your head?

I definitely get like this, when I do I count to ten while taking deep breaths then I count back from ten taking deep breaths. This starts to calm me while clearing my head then I think about my three favorite things to counter act the negative thoughts. This usually pulls me out.. Hopefully it can help you too

I have the same problem, also having issues on resolving it.

I burst into tears often and completely out of nowhere. Sometimes it's the thought of a past experience, it sort of feels like it's happening for the first time.

Yes there's lots of times I wake up everyday and I'm motivated and happy ready to start the day and it seems like there's always someone negative to come around and ruin my whole day someone who is mean and says something or just looks at me mean and just take me down every time.

Yes! Any of you who would like to talk message me I’m happy I’m not alone in this feeling. I got overwhelmed last night and got very emotional and it isn’t easy to control I am also on Zoloft and my birth control so I feel like my emotions are everywhere and those aren’t helping any. I don’t know what to do and I’m tried the counting thing @Jones3112000‍  didn’t help much. I have two kids and I try to think of them too but also wonder if they’d be better off without me because I feel like such a messy failure. Thank y’all for talking to me. @Nicole_645‍ @harry2020‍ @anonymous360‍

@april.daisy23 I definitely go through this too sometimes. I don't necessarily count like @Jones3112000‍ but I basically do the same thing. I go off somewhere alone for a few minutes (like a bathroom, a closet, wherever if I'm at work) and close my eyes and taking lots of slow deep breaths. It really helps bring me back to my center. Meditation is kind of different but it can really help with stress and anxiety. Have you thought about trying it?
