Hello-

I have one friend who says cannabis helps them with their pain. I am still skeptical. Having grown up refusing drugs, its hard for me to grasp that it can be good for you. But, nothing I have tried so far has worked, so I may be willing to give it a go? But I need a bigger sample size than 1 friend. Has anyone on here tried it?Did it help? What were the other side effects?

I appreciate the help.

Greetings, I once shared your opinions on cannabis. I thought that it made smokers of it "dumb and dumber," I personally hated the effects because it made me feel like I was spinning backward and mostly just made me fall asleep. But a few years back, when a pr*ck of a doctor tapered and discontinued my opioid medications because of "the Guidelines" my bff had me try it out again. THIS time, I got the hang of not having terrible coughing fits and feeling a reduction in pain intensity. Now I don't smoke it very often but I have discovered the available hemp products and now usually get gummies which work well for me. ***I WILL SAY THIS: in whichever form you may decide to try (flower, gummies, budder, sugar, tincture, RSO, etc) it is ALL ABOUT THE TERPENES for effectiveness, efficiency, and value.

Cannabis isn’t legal where I live but I have used cbd, delta 8 and 9 thc from hemp which is legal in almost all states. I have found that it helps with sleep but not so much for pain. Of course sometimes getting good sleep helps with the pain a little. The best place I’ve found to order it is binoid.com

It helps but for those of us in pain management and working full time, it’s a big no no

I’ve had a good experience with delta 8 clear distillate for my joint pain. It calms the discomfort without making me feel too out of it, unlike stronger stuff I’ve tried. I usually take it in small amounts at night and notice better sleep, too. Everyone’s different, but for me it’s been a decent option when the usual meds aren’t enough.

I have a very rare very painful movement disorder in my legs. I am on Opitz muscle relaxer. Lyrica seven other medications and nothing works as good as cannabis. If it makes you feel better I only start smoking at nine10 o’clock at night it very much relaxes you with is huge with chronic pain. Also, it’s a little expensive and they can’t write a script for it yet, I would definitely go to a cannabis store. And look for like the lowest THC if you’re a little skeptical because that won’t get you really stoned, but you’ll get all the other components that help you with the chronic pain. I hope this helps.

@Cheryl Thank you for sharing your experience so openly! It’s really helpful for others who are still on the fence to hear from someone who’s actually tried it. Have you noticed any particular strains or forms (like edibles or oils) that work best for your symptoms? And do you find that the benefits stay consistent over time?

Yes, the benefits do stay consistent. I typically just smoke the cannabis like in a pre-rolls or I will be on my own. I have incredible nerve pain in my legs from spinal fusion surgery. It really helps relax you still in Pain doesn’t feel as bad.

I've been exploring different ways to manage my chronic pain, and I noticed how crucial it is to consider individual conditions. For someone with low weed tolerance hemochromatosis could be a useful point of reference when determining a suitable cannabis strategy. I found that rotating strains or adjusting doses has been beneficial to me. Consulting with a doctor is vital to ensure you’re making the best choice for your health.low weed tolerance hemochromatosis

Tolerance | Medical Cannabis Glossary

Tolerance (when discussing medical cannabis) refers to a patient's reduced response to cannabinoids over time. When a patient builds up their tolerance, they will require a higher dose to achieve the same therapeutic effects. Some patients have a naturally higher tolerance to certain cannabinoids, whereas others will slowly build up tolerance over time.

I have cluster headaches, along with excessive regular headaches most of the rest of the year. I have tried THC gummies (can't smoke it) , which can help, but sometimes makes it worse when it wears off. Curious of people's experience with CBD (only) gummies. Thanks in advance

I’m a Wound Care Physician, and I’ve seen that the response to medical cannabis can vary quite a bit from person to person. Some patients report better pain control, especially with certain nerve-related pain, while others don’t notice much benefit or may experience side effects like drowsiness or dizziness. Like any treatment, it’s important to look at the whole picture, including a person’s health history and other medications. It’s always best to discuss options with your healthcare provider before trying something new.
