Hello Everyone. I wanted to give my opinion for this discussion. I truly believe if you have a positive attitude and outlook towards staying alive and accepting your condition, you will make out okay. I have seen many people who had cancer just feel negative and very depressed, they just go downhill from there on.
I had throat cancer twice, never smoked a day in my life. My second cancer I had a very large tumor on the base if my tongue going downward into my larynx. I had chemo and a large dose of radiation for 6 weeks. End result the radiation killed my tumor, but left me on a permanent trach in my neck and feeding tube. My epiglottis was dam6andvtitled backwards so I can't eat, or drink anything by mouth. It is also a big strain to speak a few words, so I write notes to communicate. Most people do not know sign language. My point is after all this PLUS losing my nice paying job, I STILL fight to stay alive even if it's a big struggle for me. No it's not an easy life but God kept me here to help whoever I can, the disabled, sick, or elderly to name a few. And always remember thier is somebody who is worse off than you....

Hello everyone, how are you holding up today?
Many people with cancer have said, “I’m still here because I chose to live.” But what does that really mean?
According to a thought-provoking piece from Stanford Medicine, the will to live isn’t just wishful thinking, it can be a powerful psychological force. Patients who are emotionally engaged, who feel a sense of purpose, who stay involved in their care, and who nurture hope often report a better quality of life. In some cases, they even respond better to treatment.
Of course, mindset is not a magic cure, and cancer is never the patient’s fault. But stories in the article show how some people find strength in unexpected ways, by choosing joy, connecting with loved ones, or simply making a decision to keep going, one day at a time.
💬 What about you?
Have you ever felt that your mindset, or the mindset of someone close to you, helped shape how you experienced illness?
What gives you the will to keep going, especially on hard days?
Do you believe emotional strength can support physical healing, or do you feel that it's too overly romanticized?
