I had the middle of my right lung removed in March, but still dont understand if there is even a stage or what to expect.

Hi @Dawn1970‍

Did you discuss the concern of "a stage" with your doctor? He would be the best to be able to discuss the stage of cancer or if the removal removed all cancer remnants.

In regard to what to expect? Do you mean you recovery and prognosis of after having a portion of the lung removed?

@Dawn1970 you should discuss the stage with your doctor. The staging depends on the tumor size, location and whether it has spread to your lymph nodes. The doctor then stages it 0-4. It is possible that it is a 0, but then I do not know if surgery would be needed?

I had stage II and had a partial lobectomy... what to expect kind of depends on the exact type of surgery. Do you know what surgery they did? Are you asking what to expect as for as in the long term for your lung?

You should expect to feel pain for a while and not up to normal for some time... however, as recovery continues you should begin to notice that you can breathe a little bit more easier, but you should continue to work to strengthen your lungs. Did your doctor send you to therapy?
