Hi @Twina77,
Thank you so much for introducing yourself and sharing your journey, I can feel the love and determination behind every decision you've made for your husband. It sounds like you’ve had to fight hard to be heard, and that kind of advocacy is both powerful and exhausting. You’ve been through a lot together, and I want to acknowledge the emotional weight of it all.
You raise some really important questions, especially about when to push for more testing and what to do when your gut tells you something isn’t right.
Has anyone else here been through something similar, either with Follicular NHL or another type of cancer?
How do you stay grounded when navigating medical decisions that feel uncertain or incomplete?

If you’ve faced similar choices, or just want to offer encouragement, feel free to share below. Tonya, you’re not alone here, and I hope this space can be one of support as you continue walking this path with your husband.

My name is Tonya my husband was diagnosed in December 2020 with Follicular Non Hodgkin’s Lymphoma at the age of 47 I noticed a lump on the inside of his elbow area about the size of a pea around April 2020 by November it had tripled in size we discussed it with his family dr who blew it off saying it was a lipoma I wasn’t comfortable with the rate it had grown so made an appointment with a general surgeon who also thought it was a lipoma but agreed to remove it and send it to pathology, the results came back as Follicular Non Hodgkin’s lymphoma, she sent him to an oncologist who for me acted like it was no big deal he didn’t want to order any tests or scans other than a couple blood tests at one appointment he said ok see you in a year before even getting the lab results back I knew then I had to find a different doctor . The new Oncologist/ Hematologist was way better ordering PET scans and labs specific to Lymphoma. He immediately began immunotherapy treatment by this time my husband was having symptoms of severe itching on his arms and legs and was diagnosed with cutaneous involvement as well . It is now September 2025 and he is experiencing pain as he explains in his bones , significant weight loss, no appetite at all, fatigue, chronic cough, and headaches the dr says he doesn’t see the any point in doing a bone marrow biopsy or further testing because the treatment would be the same regardless but for me I want to know exactly what we are dealing with I am a huge advocate for my husband and do a lot of research into his condition
