One thing I wish people talked about more is how overwhelming everything can feel at the beginning. There is so much information coming at you at once, and emotionally it can be hard to take it all in.
My grandmother had breast cancer, and seeing what she went through made me realize that treatment is not only about the physical side effects. The waiting, the uncertainty, and the fear of the cancer coming back can stay with you for a long time.
If I could tell someone starting treatment something, it would be to ask every question you have, even the ones that seem small, and not feel like you have to be strong all the time.

Hi everyone 💗
Hope you're doing well today!
When you're first told you have breast cancer, suddenly there can be so much information to take in.
Appointments, scans, treatment options, surgery, possible side effects... Sometimes you're trying to understand what's happening while also dealing with the emotions of receiving a diagnosis.
Your medical team can explain what to expect from treatment, but there are some parts of the experience that only someone who has been through it may truly understand.
Perhaps nobody told you how tired you might feel. Maybe you weren't prepared for how treatment could affect your confidence, relationships or emotions. Or perhaps there was something surprisingly positive that helped you through a difficult period.
Looking back, there may be something you wish somebody had sat down and told you before it all began.
So, for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, let's share some of that knowledge with one another.
💬 What do you wish someone had told you before starting breast cancer treatment?

Whether you're currently having treatment or finished yours years ago, you're welcome to share as much or as little as you feel comfortable with.
Your experience might help someone else feel a little more prepared for what lies ahead. 💗
With care,
Razar from the Carenity team💖
