Hello all,

How are you today? emoticon bashful

Do you think your companion animals have enjoyed the lockdown? Do you think he or she will be sad when the lockdown ends?

There are most likely two responses your pet may have:

1. He or she may have felt "invaded" by the non-stop presence of the family at his or her side. In this case, your pet may need time to adjust to the end of lockdown by rediscovering his or her own space and "territory", and it is simply necessary to let him or her return to old habits.

2. If your pet seemed happy or excited to be surrounded by family, he or she will most certainly have to go through an adjustment when lockdown ends and get used to being alone again! In this case, you should start walks or feedings at the same times and frequency as before the lockdown. Also, try not to spoil him or her with too much with attention or affection (if you can resist!) during the day. Try to remember your pet's pre-lockdown schedule or routine and transition them smoothly so that he or she is prepared for your absence.

Have you seen a change in your pet's behavior in lockdown? Do you think he or she enjoyed having you around? How do you think he/she will react to the end of lockdown?

Feel free to share here!

Take care,

Courtney

@Courtney_J Wow thank you for sharing this, I hadn't really given it a thought yet. I think my cat will be glad when I get out of "his house"! emoticon laugh

My cat, George, loves having us around and cries when he sees one of us leaving for a doctor appointment or other chores.
