Hi everyone 👋

Walking is one of the simplest ways to stay active.

But recently, another form of walking has been gaining attention: rucking.

Rucking simply means walking while carrying weight in a backpack. It originally comes from military training, but it has increasingly become a fitness trend for people looking for a way to make ordinary walking more challenging.

The idea is simple: adding some weight means your muscles and cardiovascular system have to work harder than they would during a normal walk.

It has become one of the more talked-about wellness trends of 2026, alongside Zone 2 cardio and other forms of lower-intensity exercise.

But it is not necessarily suitable for everyone.

Carrying extra weight can put more stress on the back, hips, knees and ankles, particularly if someone already has joint pain, mobility difficulties or another health condition.

That makes it an interesting example of how fitness trends can sound simple online but may feel very different in real life.

💬 What do you think?

  • Had you heard of rucking before?
  • Would carrying a weighted backpack make walking more interesting for you, or just less comfortable?
  • Do you prefer gentle exercise that you can sustain for longer, or shorter activities that feel more challenging?
  • What kind of exercise actually feels realistic and enjoyable for you at the moment?

Fitness trends come and go, but the best activity is often the one that fits your body and your everyday life.

Would you ever try rucking, or are you perfectly happy keeping your walks weight-free? 🚶

With care,

Razar from the Carenity team💖
