@Peskygnat Hi, yes I can totally understand. If we are not used to eating certain things from when we were kids, it's hard to change our eating habits later.
But I know that the Mediterranean diet is good for heart health. We published an article here on Carenity some time ago, about the Meditarranean diet, here is the link, if you are interested: https://member.carenity.us/magazine/nutrition/the-mediterranean-diet-what-are-the-health-benefits-1274
Let us know if you try it later 😉
Take care,
Courtney

@Mrspeedy is this because you do not like diets (or this one in particular), or don't find them useful, or because you don't really need any?
Thank you for sharing your views!
Take care,
Courtney

@Courtney_J My diet is to eat fresh produce along with grains, beans, nuts, seeds, meat and dairy. The least amount of processing available to preserve nutrients and contain less chemicals. Hardly any salt or refined sugar. Not many packaged products. I really notice a decrease in my mental and physical health if I don't eat the fresh fruits and vegetables. There's more day to day pain and my depression increases. I eat as many different types as I can. I'm 59, and after trying a few diets, I've learned that going natural and self discipline are the only things that work in the long run. The Paleo Diet is merely another fad diet among many.

I have done the diet and now I’m Keto instead now. Avoiding carbs is easier then one thinks once you truly get into the diet. There is still flour that can be used and sweetener that is better for you like monk fruit sugar. You can use noodles made from peas or ones made from plant based products like miracle noodles. Plus you wouldn’t believe all the recipes you can do with just cauliflower. My husband makes the best mashed potatoes from cauliflower you would never know the difference. Plus he gets a root of some kind and makes use like a potato salad and people don’t even realize it’s not potatoes. So once you get into it and start learning how to make the recipes you like then you will start looking at the recipes you used to make and think how you can switch them over to keto or Paleo they are not much different. Then once you see how satisfied you are eating the same foods a better way you won’t go back. Sometimes I still on occasion eat bad but my body knows it and it tells me know how I should not have eaten that

Hi, I haven’t tried it. I’m struggling with just eating. It scares me just eating. On occasion I’ve eaten to much an become sob. That is scary when you can’t breathe because you ate to much. It makes you scared to eat. I’ve tried eating smaller meals. That doesn’t work for me either.. So I eat like bird.

Hi, I was thinking of starting on Paleo diet, but not sure if I'm going to be able to stick to it, as I will hav to avoid processed foods, carbs, etc, and I find it very hard to do! I know it's not great for my health, nor for my weight problems, but I can't help myself.
if any of you have tried this diet, I'd appreciate the feedback.
