Hi everyone ๐ŸŒ™
How are you feeling today?

We all know that sleep is essential for our bodies and minds, but getting good sleep isnโ€™t always easy, especially when you're managing a chronic condition.

Most adults between 18 and 60 need at least 7 hours of sleep per night. For those over 60, the recommendation is 7 to 9 hours, and for those over 65, 7 to 8 hours. But what about in real life, when pain flares up, anxiety wonโ€™t switch off, or medications disrupt your rhythms?

๐Ÿ’ฌ Letโ€™s talk about it:

  • How many hours of sleep do you usually get each night?
  • Has your sleep changed since your diagnosis or treatment?
  • Are there symptoms or side effects that make sleep harder?
  • What helps you rest better: routines, tricks, or small comforts?

Take care,

Somya from the Carenity team ๐ŸŒผ

I get an average of 5 hours sleep a night. No 2 nights sleep is the same as the last. I do not like naps. I suffer from hypersomnia. The more I sleep I get the more tired I am when I get up. I barely remember my dreams but I wake up with my hair all messed up and some nights Iโ€™m drenched in sweat. Iโ€™ve been put on many different meds for sleep and nothing works. I have no problem falling asleep but staying asleep is difficult for me. Trazodone I sleep walk and I was put on 800 mg of seraquil a night and still walk up throughout the night. Sleeping pills I would blackout and be walking around and not remembering anything the next day from my actions from the night before. I have to accept that this is just the way Iโ€™m wired. Bipolar disorder, anxiety, depression c-ptsd and recovering from addiction. Life hasnโ€™t been easy but things are getting better. Accepting things for what they are and the way I am.
