Community managerHello,
Hope you are well. Thank you for opening this discussion on a topic that needs to be made more aware of. Instances of medical misdiagnosis are on the rise, despite advances in medical technology and our increasing understanding of medical conditions.
I shall tag other members who could provide their experiences about misdiagnosis and share their thoughts and opinions.

Have you ever been misdiagnosed? What are your opinions on the recent rise in misdiagnosis cases? Are these actions done with intent or do we need to cut doctors some slack?
Would be really interesting to get your point of view of this.
Have a nice day,
Rahul from the Carenity team

I found not so much misdiagnosis but refusal to go down the MS path when I first started having signs. It was the optometrist that was the push for the doctors to look at MS seriously. It took someone else on my side to convince the Doctors about the signs.

I am seeing a lot of misdiagnosis among my friends and family in their consultations with doctors. Is the healthcare system brokn? Even for me, I was initially told that I had rheumatoid arthritis which is crazy because lupus and RA is TOTALLY different! I am worried for other people who might hav had serius conditions and gotten the wrong diagnosis. Does anyone else think about this or am I just ranting?
