Hey everyone,

For many of us living with a chronic illness, fatigue is just part of life. Whether it’s from treatments or the illness itself, feeling constantly tired can make even the simplest daily tasks feel overwhelming.

How do you deal with this ongoing fatigue? Do you have any tricks to hold onto your energy and prevent burnout?

Maybe you’ve found ways to take breaks throughout the day, manage your energy better, or organize your routine to avoid exhaustion. Whatever works for you, your tips could be really helpful to others in the community who are struggling with the same thing.

We’d love to hear how you cope with chronic fatigue and what helps you keep going! 💬✨

Take care,
Somya from the Carenity team 🌼

Hi @leeonone1,

Thanks for sharing! B12 and iron are great for boosting energy, especially if you’re feeling run down. Staying active can definitely be helpful, too. Do you find that a little activity helps get you going, or do you have to manage how much you do to avoid overdoing it? Your approach could be really helpful to others trying to find that balance!

Take care,
Somya from the Carenity Team 🌼i

How do I tolerate fatigue. Well, I have been trying to get more protein into my system. I even found coffee with protein in it at Aldi's. I am also working. So I just try to keep positive and not think or worry about anything negative. It is helping me

Very easy, start the day with a reading from my Holy Bible, Centrum Silver, and a pot of coffee. ☕️☕️☕️

It's not easy but the best thing to do is push yourself to stay active. Keep moving, it can even help improve your mood. Having said that, it's also important to know when to take a break. For me it's mid-afternoon

Hello. Daily fatigue & what to do... Yes ferris & iron + B vitamin supplements Can help. But, not Always. I have sleep apnea + autism. CPAP's don't work for me. I use mouth device, like retainer. It helps minimally only. Exhausted upon waking. Never rested!! And then add the neurodivergent problem into mix. Gotta keep up w Jones', Smiths', Johnsons', etc. My mind goes Wayy beyond speed limits, racing, constantly. Again, never able to rest. Worn out with 0 end in sight. I did buy some iron at pharmacy, & took maybe, 2. It Can be very constipating. Yet, a whole other disorder. I usually don't nap, unless ill. I am fully retired & little structure to days. Many doc appointments, at my age. I tend to have low grade irritability, so clash w lots of ppl. Not intentionally, just how I come across. Also do not keep regular sleep hours, so night hygiene not there.

Furthermore, as we go into Fall, I kinda isolate more. Unhealthy. At 60, really don't much care so much about appearance as being able to function. Sorta a let go, let God stance. Faith is, in some ways, adventageous. Yet, I digress. Thanx, at least, reading.

I know it sounds crazy and people don’t want to hear it. BUT exercise really does help! My care team and family used to say, “You have to move!” Ha! I couldn’t even get off the couch. Then one day at chemo, one of my favorite people and nurse navigator asked me if I would be willing to participate in a new program called CancerFit. She explained that all participants have cancer, and work with a personal trainer twice a week. And it is free! I thought, what have I got to lose (besides 100 pounds). That was four years ago. Today, I’m 75 pounds lighter, and I have muscles where I didn’t know there were muscles! When I think about where I started, it’s pretty dismal. But the trainer is phenomenal!! She tells us to work to our own ability and not to compare ourselves to anyone else. If we’re having a bad day, she encourages us to be gentle with ourselves. Otherwise, she works us as hard as we’re willing to work. I hardly ever miss a session. Even when I’m feeling exhausted, I go. And I feel much happier and energized when I leave. Part of it is the camaraderie. Most of it is the exercise.

If there isn’t a program like this where you live, I urge you to talk to someone at the cancer clinic where you go, the YMCA, or a local gym. I cannot say enough good things about what this program has done for me in mind, body and spirit!

Every day, go to bed and wake up at precisely the same hour.Make sure your bedroom is quiet, dark, and chilly.Late in the day, turn off screens and stay away from caffeine.

I take. 2 B12's every morning. Sometimes I have to take another one in the afternoon. I usually take a nap but sometimes it affects my sleep at night.
