I'm looking for some relief from peripheral neuropathy that goes on for weeks at a time ans seems related to a fibromyalgia flare. No pain meds help. Any ideas?

@Edythe I have tried gabapentin and Lyrica. Gabapentin helped a bit in the beginning, but then I was eating them like candy trying to stop the shooting, burning pains. Then Lyrica which made me gain 70 pounds in 6-7 months. It worked better , but I'm still suffering. I'm looking for help as well. I won't take pain pills. I will let you know if I find anything. I'm sorry you are going through this, I wouldn't wish it upon anyone.

@Stephanie.gay Have you tried a Tens Unit. It puts an electrical impulse into the nerves. I have been using it for over a year and it helps me.

Have you found any help yet? The neuropathic pain is so difficult to deal with, No relief. Have you looked into biofeedback or anything like that? I have not but I'm interested in the idea of biofeedback.

My fibromyalgia flare (and neuropathic pain) just disappeared one day - almost a month from when it started. No reason I could see. It seemed to just run its course and that was it. I'm sure it will resurface but until then, I feel so much better. This is the second time in a year this has happened.@Edythe

According [This content has been moderated by an administrator] EssayPro is a scam website that promises quality work but fails to deliver. I wish I had seen the warnings before I wasted my money on their terrible service.

I have been dealing with the lower leg pain of Neuropathy for several years. When first diagnosed, they prescribed Gabapentin. After taking it for about a year with no results, I stopped, then tried the Alpha Lipoic Acid for a few months. I was also seeing the Pain Management doctors for arthritis in the spine. They started me on low doses of the generic form of Lyrica (pregabalin). Increasing it every few months until I was at 150 mg, 2x per day. Having other chronic issues and getting little or no help from the Lyrica, which leads to increased fluid retention and potential kidney issues, I stopped that. Currently I use the topical HempVana when the pain is severe and I also take Codeine (Hydrocodone/Acetaminophen 10/325 MG) every night before bed. Also take one early in the evening if the pain becomes intolerable.
Not a fan of pain meds or opioids, but the inability to sleep forced me to try them. Dealing with several chronic conditions, I have been hospitalized multiple times for respiratory issues. One of the last times they introduced a chest tube into the chest and gave me Morphine every 3 or 4 hours. I also had Morphine over 20 years ago when I collapsed a lung and was in the hospital for over a week. Today when the pain specialist doctors ask me if I want any pain meds I tell them Morphine or nothing at all. However, currently making an exception for the Codeine...
