Hi @sophiejane
How are you today?
Let me tag a few other members who can share their experiences with ITP with you. Perhaps they have has similar symptoms.

Do you get nose bleeds? Has your doctor told you they are common? Is there anything you do to reduce their frequency?
Thank you for your input,

@LizziB @sophiejane I have not had nosebleeds, but have heard that it is a common symptom of ITP; I would message your doctor and try to get in to see them soon especially if that is a new symptom for you. I’m sorry you are dealing with those! My husband gets them and usually pinching his nose helps stop them.

GloriaB Yes, I suffer with nosebleeds when my platelets drop low and they don't stop unless I rush to the hospital and get help.

You have to be careful what supplements you take, such as taking Krill Oil or Fish Oil and Turmeric. These supplements thin your blood.

@LizziB I have not tried Papaya leaf. The only thing in terms of diet I have found to help is to avoid alcohol and to decrease or avoid refined sugar. My platelets still drop but it seems not as much. My low platelets are due to auto-immune disease. My doctor however says there is nothing in terms of diet that helps. thanks, Lynette

Are spontaneous nose bleeds something that I need to be worried about with ITP? I have had some rashes, and a few times passed blood with my urine and had heavy episodes of menstruation but not nosebleeds that have happened quite suddenly. Any information on the same would be appreciated!
