I feel so lost most of the time. I feel sad. I have Put myself in isolation most of the time. All I do is go to work and come home and then search until it’s time to go to bed and do it over again. I am a faithful believer in Jesus Christ and I keep doubting myself every day. I pray so hard that this will go away or get a little easier and it doesn’t.

@Ellanne “But god, the every day struggle, the feeling like I should be better than this, the medication that sometimes helps sometimes not, and that you simply just can’t count on any day feeling good. It’s just so wearing on your psyche, heart and soul. You have to white knuckle it through every day and just hope the next is better. I’m not suggesting I will do anything bad, but I do think about it a lot. Obviously this is no way to live. Like you, just been feeling really bad for way too long and wondering what the point of all this is supposed to be?”

This is exactly how I feel! Can I ask what meds you’re on or of you’ve found any relief?

@Sadgirl84 Hi Sadgirl84! I am pretty sure I’ve been on every antidepressant that’s out there at least once, some even a couple times. As is the same experience for maybe you and a lot of others, they either didn’t work or I didn’t like the side effects. Currently I am on Venlafaxine, (the generic form of Effexor) and have been for a number of years now. And while no medication is ever 100% perfect, at least for the time being, this one seems to work the best for me.

I do hesitate, though, to recommend any medication just because everyone’s system and chemical makeup is so different and thus will behave differently. But if you haven’t ever tried Venlafaxine before, I just recommend you do your own research (especially of the side effects) first, and, of course, to discuss it with your doc to see if it might be right for you.

Believe me, I know how frustrating it can be when you are just so desperate for relief.

Thanks so much Sadgirl84, for reaching out to me. I hope you find the help and relief you are seeking and deserve. If I can be of any more help, please do not hesitate to reach out again.

Warm Regards, Ellanne
