I started seeing this orthopedic Dr. in 2017. I saw her again in 2020 and again 2022. In 2022 when she found out that my pain Dr had added more meds when I brought up my pain and the fact I had gotten the Ankolosing Spondylitis gene, etc and when she found what I was now on, she left the room and never came back in. She sat up my appt for my 3rd SI ablation and I noticed I didn't have to jump thru all those hoops to get a new MRI! some things happened and long story short, the next time i had a virtual appt and she raised her voice at me and told me my spine didn't look that bad for someone my age and when i returned to her practice that she would give me injections up and down my spine, when she Knew and had told me back in 2017 injections didn't work for me. I was stunned. I canceled the nerve ablation and really needed it! I was stunned and disheartened! It was the worst I've ever been treated.

Re: medical professional bullying chronic pain patient
I am a patient at my county mental health facility. I have migraines about 20 days of each month. I am 72, and I've had migraines since I was 12. I do my best, but sometimes it is impossible to keep an appointment if I if my pain level is very high. My mental health case worker doesn't understand this. In a very sarcastic tone, she said, "You seem to have a problem with this, don't you?" I was shocked and crushed. I said, Yes, I've had a problem for 60 years." I went home crying. I finally called a superior and asked for a different case worker.
I didn't need to be treated like a child who had misbehaved. It was demeaning. I requested mental health services because I have serious depression that accompanies chronic pain. The case worker made it worse for me by giving me guilt and low self-esteem.

Yes after I suffered my fourth seizure on September 22, 2023., I spent the night in the hospital. They had a neurologist see me he and he said no driving for six months. When I questioned him about this he preceded to ask me how I would feel if I had seizure while driving. He didn't need to do this. I have been under a neuroligist since I suffered my last seizure in Nov. 2019.

I have Medical PTSD. I have to take my sister with me to appointments where I see new doctors because my anxiety is so bad that I cannot focus. I have feelings of panic and sheer terror being in the room with a new physician. Just trying to explain this condition I have had doctors roll their eyes or make some smart comment about how ptsd is just a made up excuse to not deal with anything.

Ambassador@Somya.P My neurologist gave me a script through the state dispensary for aid with sleep. It helps with sleep. The script is for low dose THC, so it aids with minor pain. I have learned through my trials of product that CBD gummies help with sleep, but not pain. In my state, CBD gummies can be bought at local corner stores.

@HelloKitty I started taking kratom when I was diagnosed with cervical dystonia, it means I have constant pulling of my neck and shoulder muscles. Botox is the primary treatment , 6 to 8 shots targeting muscles but its hit and miss. I told a friend about this and he told me about kratom, so I went to a kratom shop and talked to the owner. He learned I was an Army Veteran and sold me some capsules. Unbelievable the kratom knocked out the pain and relieved some of the spasms and pulling that was 5 years ago, and I am still taking it for chronic pain. I have found the vendors to trust and a fbook website to share experiences with others. Like all things kratom must be handled with common sense, and reading info on the web helps educate us all. IT IS THE ONLY THING THAT HELPS WITH MY CHRONIC PAIN

Yes I agree. Im on morphine and Hydrocodone/Acetaminophen and yours as well. I have some others also. If I want to work in the back yard, I am sleep mode if I set down. The next morning and at night is paying with great pain. Its a hard road in many ways. We have to keep going best as we can. Have a smile and good day to you. I have the stimulator too.

Hello everyone,
How are you doing today?
Patients living with chronic pain are not always taken seriously by people around them, even medical professionals. They do not understand the reoccurring pain that people living with chronic pain live through.
Has a medical professional made you feel bad about your condition? Have they not believed you? What do you do in this situation? How do you cope?
Let's share so other members know they are not alone.
Take care,
Lizzi from the Carenity team
