Wow @Lee__R I never knew you had that many surgeries! I suffer from pain from RA, which I guess is similar in a way to fail orthapedic surgery pain in the sense that it is in the joints... but thankfully yours is not a systemic disease, but I really feel sorry for you because there is no way I could imagine going through so much... did it set you back at all in your goals and endeavors? I cannot imagine... how many years did this go on for? Were you constantly in a sling...? limited?

Hey Lee ! Wow quite the story and journey, but good to see you are doing well, I hope!
I have similar situation. In my situation, my chronic pain is from failed surgeries also and is to the shoulder... The failed surgeries damaged a nerve that supports the shoulder girdle and thus I have pain, achy, and dullness feeling around my shoulder, as well as decrease sensation in the area. I also have difficulty performing and controlling certain movements with my arm... All this also led to a fullness and nerve pain in the neck that can at times extend to the arm. Like you, I have similar deficits in the scapular control... mine wings some... so if I am leaning up against a chair, the winging shoulder blade (surgical shoulder) bumps up against the chair before and without the other one touching it! It is aggravating let me tell you... I do not know if you have this also?
Have you tried dried needling and electrical stimulation with acupuncture needles to where the practitioner puts the needles into the injured muscles and sends electricity to them in hopes to stimulate them?

Hello ,I have cronic pain from 3 cervical fusions, 2 lumbar fusions , both shoulders had surgeries, 4 carpal tunnel surgeries hernia surgery and arthritis and fatty liver.
I get thru the day by taking ambien to put me to sleep every night.
Prednesone helped but I did not like the side effects. My doctor says only thing he knows is that as I lose weight my liver would decrease in size. I am 20 lbs. overweight but do have type2 diabetes.
I would like to know about other alternatives.
thank you,
imsimonm

@imsimonm I am interested in seeing more about your pain to inform you of things that have worked, somewhat for me...
Is your pain worse after the surgeries? Is it the same pain post surgery as pre-surgery or different? Do you have post-surgical pain? On a scale from 0 to 10 what would you say is your daily pain level and what type of pain do you experience, shooting, numb, aching, dull?

Hi Carenity!
This topic is close to me as I suffer from chronic pain from multiple elbow and shoulder surgeries. I have had 10 clavicle surgeries and 4 elbow surgeries. The reason I had so many surgeries is because I got manipulated by a chiro and it subluxed my clavicle from my SC joint. I had intense nerve pain throughout my non-dominant arm, lost scapular control, and my clavicle became mobile. Anyways, after that I had surgeries done, but the doctors originally thought the problem was only at my AC joint, when in actuality it was at the SC joint. Needless to say, I had about 3 surgeries I did not need, but which only made my clavicle even shorter.
Then, I had one surgery where the doctor cut off 2 cm of my clavicle at the medial end, which I went downhill fast. I had a surgery last year to fix that error made by the other doctor; however I have nerve pain still in my non-dominant injured arm, and aches throught both of my elbows and joints of my clavicle.
I have tried various herbal medicines, but nothing great for chronic. What about you guys? Does anyone else suffer from chronic pain post surgery? What is your story? I would love to create a group here so we can all be support for each other.
