My mom had epiglottis cancer they removed her voice box and she hasnt been able to talk for almost 2 years. She been wanting to talk again and they had some other issues to go thru before they would talk about a voice chip. Yesterday they told us they can schedule the surgery for a tracheoesophageal puncture but than told us the issues that can come with it. Its permanent and cant be reversed. It might not work. She could get fluid in her lungs. Does anyone have one and what are your thoughts. Is it worth it or does it cause more issues? Any info appericated.
