Hi everyone,

I hope you had a good weekend and are prepared for the week ahead!💪

Living with a chronic illness is a source of stress, not only when it comes to dealing with the daily symptoms of the condition but the financial burden is also a major stress.

What is the most expensive part of your care? The costs of doctors? The transportation to appointments? The medication? Medical devices?

Insurance usually does not cover all the costs involved. How do you manage the cost of your condition?

I will tag a few people to get the conversation started.

@OU-DIEHARD @hyato2002 @NAS14704 @Qwalke30 @Pochi010170 @mc1440 @Ugachickee @Ytesha @cds1492 @MNewton @Ienjel @Nbaby469 @mik1500 @lol1234569 @Deacon @Rewrew45 @cedarsuzie @Muchas @Vacation1 @west_jakob @TalkAboutIt @Bitcly @ephelpme @Bessie @Waitebre000 @David1010 @Samedu08 @cait08 @Mich123 @lethanashea @Russann @Tall_bttm_guy @Red202092 @nance888 @Poolegirl @kit.782

Hi @DonaldEaton

How are you today?

Thanks for sharing! Is this before or after insurance?

I get an biological injection every 8 weeks and I think pay around $400 with insurance for that- each appointment costs me $158.

I don’t have health insurance, Can’t hold a job long enough due to flare ups of this disease that’s eating me from the inside out. The doctor is $150 a month $50 in addition if labs are needed. The medication is $400 or more depending, and that’s using goodrx or whichever card has the best deal. My husband helps me tremendously, but I live with this guilt that consumes me. Sometimes I wonder, if I should just stop all of it. On my best day I feel like I have the flu. I’m so full of love for everyone else, but I lost my self respect. I’m sorry I didn’t mean to go off the rails. Without Kendrick, I’d be gone.

I have a bad back & specialist surgeon is recommending a complete reconstruction with long hospital stay & rehab. I have a 10 year window, he says but at 74, I’m not interested in doing that. I have a spinal cord stim & see my pain specialist for procedure when needed. My cost is minimal as I submitted financial papers to office & they give me discounts. I use Optum RX mail order on my meds & most are covered as generic.
