Hi @Doug_RVA
How are you doing today?
Thank you so much for sharing. The holidays can be a tough time for many. It can be hard to connect with people during a this time when it seems like everyone is bubbling around and you are not in the same mood. I admire you for reaching out and sharing your struggles with the Carenity community.
I hope you have more sing-a-longs than sadness this holiday season!
Take care,
Lizzi from the Carenity team

Good evening all!
Thanksgiving π¦ has passed and Christmas π will soon be here.
This is always a very difficult time for me. I have too many bad memories - enough that they often outweigh my good memories.
Being single and 69 years young, there are times when I am overwhelmed with loneliness.
Over the years I have tried to make new and positive traditions for myself. And, my involvement with Church and my spiritual life is a major help.
My parents are both living, 91 and 95 years old. They are a bit over 200 miles from where I live and are in an assisted living facility. Though I know they are safe there, there is much that I do to take care of things for them. And, I do visit them.
At the same time, most of my bad memories of Christmas are from when I was growing up.
I see a therapist regularly and see a psychiatrist for my medications.
Thanksgiving goes well for me as I spend it with my best friend and his family and 2 crazy greyhounds.
But, now it is the lead up to Christmas. One minute I am happy listening to Christmas music and the next I am falling apart.
In any case, I know I am not alone in having difficulties with the holidays. And, I want to say WE WILL GET THROUGH THE HOLIDAYS!
Sending prayers and love to you all!
Never give up!
